DEPARTMENT OF TOXIC <br /> CONTROL SUBSTANCES <br /> HAZARDOUS WASTE <br /> RESOURCE <br /> CONSERVATION & <br /> RECOVERY ACT(RCRA) <br /> SUBTITLE C AND CODE OF <br /> FEDERAL REGULATIONS r <br /> TITLE 40PROGRAM AGENCIES <br /> /J <br /> Figure 2.1 Agencies and Regulations Applicable to Hazardous Waste <br /> Management <br /> RCRA authorizes the EPA to delegate regulatory authority to the states. <br /> Almost every state has received RCRA authorization, including California. <br /> RCRA authorization allows Cal/EPA's DTSC to enforce the state's <br /> hazardous waste management rules, which are more stringent than the <br /> federal requirements because they include the federal RCRA rules, as well as <br /> additional state requirements. <br /> The California hazardous waste management statutes and regulations are <br /> found at California Hazardous Waste Control Act, California Health& <br /> Safety Code (CH &SC) 25100 to 25250.30, and 22 California Code of <br /> Regulations (CCR) 66250 to 66279.91, 22 CCR 67100.1 to 67100.14, <br /> 22 CCR 67383.1 to 68400, and 22 CCR 69000 to 69109.
