Haggerty | Emergency Action Plan Page 6 of 19 2022 HCI Actively participate in emergency drills and treat them as if they are real. Participate in annual, mandatory training classes, seminars, video training and complete all assigned quizzes and on the job training. During an emergency: Assist an Emergency Response Team member if asked. Listen and wait for directions on how and when to evacuate the facility from emergency response team members, security, police, or fire personnel. Report any emergencies such as a bomb threat or threats of violence to your supervisor first and immediately follow the assigned escape route procedures to avoid crowding at the exits. Report immediately to your designated meeting location upon evacuating the facility. Do not take any side trips. Never go back into the facility to retrieve personal belongings. Reporting Emergencies Report fire or other emergencies immediately, first call 911 (9-911 if using an office phone) then notify your supervisor & the responsible person(s) listed in Attachment B. The employee alarm system that has been established for this facility is as follows: The building is equipped with fire horn strobe that will sound if a fire occurs or if the manual pull handle is pulled. The manual fire alarm handle should be pulled if a fire has occurred, or if there is a gas or Hazmat emergency where the building needs to be evacuated and the authorities need to be notified. The alarm should NOT be pulled in cases where an “Active Shooter” incident is in progress.
