Additionally, radiation readings were randomly taken. The objective was met by performing an <br />intrusive investigation using conventional trench excavation equipment in order to determine the <br />depths and extent to the waste and by collecting representative samples of soil and burn refuse <br />for analytical testing. The data derived from the investigation was evaluated and used to <br />determine remedial alternatives for the site. <br />3. Site Location and Description <br />The Santa Fe Road Disposal Sites is located north of the City of Riverbank at the southeastern <br />most portion of San Joaquin County, Appendix C (Figures 1 and 2). The site appears on the <br />Escalon and Riverbank United States Geological Survey (USGS) 7.5 -Minute Series Topographic <br />Maps in Township 2 South, Range 9 East, Sections 23 and 24 (Mountain Diablo Base Meridian) <br />(Appendix C, Figure 3). The Santa Fe Road Disposal Sites includes four contiguous properties <br />referred to as the Bill Lane IDS, the Lynch IDS, the Beard property, and the Waller (McAnaly) <br />property, formally known as the Waller property. These four properties or portions of, <br />collectively were part of the (SSDS) (Appendix C, Figure 4).
