We have the following comments:
L The results of the investigation demonstrate that the wastes at the Santa Fe Road D I is sal Sites
do not have hazardous waste characteristics.
2. Selected waste samples were analyzed by the S WET method for soluble lead. Soluble lead
concentrations for to from the Delta,Bmd and Waller sites exceed the California Public
Health Goal in Drinking Water of 2 ug/l. The waste fmm these sites is a threat to at quality
and therefore is classified as designated waste.
3, Under Section 21410 of Title 27,waste piles shall be closed in one of two as, either clean
closure(remove all waste and discharge to an appropriate landfill facility)or closure as a landfill
If it is determined that it is impractical to clean close the disposal sites, closure as a landfill will
involve installation of a Title 27 prescriptive landfill cover over the waste piles(Title 27 Section,
21090).
RWQCBs taff looks forward to working with CIWMB staff in closing the Santa Fe Road waste disposal
sites.
