Santa Fe Road, San Joaquin County, CA
APN 249-060-13 and APN 249-060-14
Dear Mr. McClellon:
Ground Zero Analysis, Inc. (Ground Zero) has prepared this workplan on behalf of Mr. Peter
Palomino to outline the proposed work to be conducted to further assess the soil and groundwater
quality beneath the referenced parcels. Figure 1 shows the location of the site. Figure 2 shows the
approximate boundaries of the parcels.
The general scope of work will consist of drilling and sampling five soil borings in order to
characterize native soil and groundwater beneath the properties.
BACKGROUND
The site is located just north of the town of Riverbank and the Stanislaus River, and has been
identified as 23023 S. Santa Fe Road, San Joaquin County, California. Parcel APN 249-060-13
(Parcel 13) is a triangular shaped parcel that totals approximately 16 acres of land. Parcel APN 249-
060-14 (Parcel 14) is a square shaped parcel that totals approximately 10 acres of land. Both
parcels have varying topography. Figure 3 presents the parcels on a topographic map, 7.5-minute
USGS series. Shallow groundwater beneath the parcels is believed to lie at a depth of
approximately 28-30 feet below ground surface (bgs) and flow generally south, based upon
information obtained from a nearby UST site. It is our understanding that the subject parcels are
currently designated for general agricultural use.
The parcels were previously part of a Closed, Illegal, and Abandoned (CIA) landfill site identified
by the California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB) as the Snyder Sanitary Dump
Site. An April 2003 report entitled Site Investigation, Santa Fe Road Disposal Site, County of San
Joaquin, Final Report, summarized a site investigation conducted by the CIWMB.
