Local Health ::Iistrict <br /> Jim Jones Forward, Inc. <br /> Jack McCollough Beta Associates <br /> During the inspection; a tense of fine to medium-grained sand was observed <br /> in the west-central Trench wall immediately above the trench `loor. The <br /> lense measured 60 feet in kzngth and a maximum of 3.5 feet in thickness. ,' <br /> At the request of Stare and County regulatory perscnnel , the sand lense <br /> was excavated and removed using on-site equipment operated by Forward, lnc. 0 " <br /> employees. The excavation was extended 3 feet into the trench w-111 and <br /> 2.5 feet below trench invert elevation to remove the �iaximu!r, possible <br /> volume of sand. Silty clay soil was then borrovled fr•cr,i avai fable on-site <br /> stockpiles and was placed and compacted to form a soli liner over the <br /> exposed sand lense.
