CLASS II-1 DISPOSAL SITE IN SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY FOR <br /> AUTHORIZATION TO RECEIVE FMC, MODESTO WASTE, CONTAMINATED WASTEWATER TREATMENT <br /> FILTER CAKE FROM A BAY AREA METAL TREATMENT PLANT AND 3,000 DRUMS OF LOW MOISTURE <br /> CONTENT SILICONE-DIOXIDE, GENERATED AT THE SACRAMENTO PROCTOR AND GAMBLE PLANT <br /> A site inspection was made on 8 November 1979 by Greg Basso and yourself as Forward, <br /> Inc., representatives ; Jim Parsons, State Water Resources Control Board; Clyde Cass, <br /> Department of Health Services (Hazardous Waste Section) ; Lee Hall , Local Health <br /> District; and Frank McDermott of our staff. <br /> The inspection was conducted to determine any necessary work needed at the newly <br /> constructed No. 3 "cell " to prepare the site to receive the subject wastes. <br /> It was determined by the above group the following is to be accomplished before <br /> written authorization would be granted: <br /> 7. Break the hydrologic continuity between Trench No. 3 and the <br /> sand lens at the center of the west side. This can be easily <br /> accomplished by placement of a compacted clay cap several <br /> feet thick over the sand outcrop. In addition, the drainage <br /> ditch at this point should be reconstructed,either relocating it <br /> outside of the limits of the sand outcrop or by lining it with <br /> compacted clay. <br /> 2. Clean the gravel drain in the northwest corner of the trench of <br /> silt and clay materials. <br /> On 9 November 1979, a site inspection by Frank McDermottfound the above two con- <br /> ditions satisfactorily accomplished. <br /> This letter grants authorization to receive the subject waste at the Forward, Inc. , <br /> site. <br /> STANLEY R.
