While attempting to avoid the smoke, | hound that even <br /> small quantities ofthe smoke were irritating to my eygm, nose, and throat' Jim Cozrnook took <br /> photographs of the containers and materials found in the burning and 8nno|dahng areas. <br /> | completed my search of the burning and smoldering area in |eoa than thirty minutes and <br /> returned to my vehicle VJ [D8hg notes and draw a crude sketch of the property and what was <br /> found. Jim Czarnecki and | arranged to meet at the ESca|on Fire Department 0Jdiscuss options <br /> with Fire Chief Jinn Rosenberg. VVhi|a leaving the property, | noticed storage tonhS, chemical <br /> containers and an area of dark soil on the northeast corner Vfthe property and decided to Stop <br /> 2nd |nveSdga'8. <br /> \ continued to take Rotes and Jim Czarnecki took additional photographs while searching the <br /> north east section ofthe property for hazardous materials orwaste. The north east section of <br /> the property was not involved in the fire. and | saw the following it8[OS and materials while <br /> vv8|h|nQ around the area: <br /> o\ Two full 5g8Uon plastic containers of Delco 100 Chevron Oil, and five other <br /> similar containers which held SnnaU quantities of residues. <br /> b6 Two storage tanks which had previously been used as underground storage tanks <br /> with capacities ranging from 250 to 500 gallons which were empty. <br /> o\ A storage tank which had previously been used as an underground storage tank with <br /> 'c8p8c|h/ of approximately 500 gallons. | estimate this tank contained 120 gallons of <br /> a liquid ''which S[D8Ued like diesel. The tank was placed upright on the gnJUDd and had <br /> vent pipes in addition \oadispensing outlet. <br /> d) Four empty 55 gallon steel drUmG, one of these drums was laying on its side and had <br /> aChevron label on its end. <br /> e\ An unlabeled 55 gallon S\88| drum containing approximately 15 gallons of a dark <br /> liquid with a hydrocarbon sOl8|L <br /> O AstS8| tank mounted on a trailer with three uncovered 5 QaUoOcap2(�typ|2s�C <br /> 'containers of thick dark tar-like rO8t8ri8| with labels for Tar Remover. and three <br /> VnS8a|gd 5 gallon capacity plastic OoOt@iD8[S ofdark oily liquid. <br /> g\ Four automobile fuel tanks which were gnnptv' <br /> h\ Two automobile wrecks and assorted truck orauto parts. <br /> i\ Avvhite spherical steel tank without labeling which sounded empty when tapped. <br /> '\ A recreational camping type of trailer <br /> k1 A larger trailer like ones Used to haul earth behind diesel trucks. <br /> ' <br />
