SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY <br />Introduction <br />Live Oak GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (Live Oak) was contracted by Gurpreet Judge to <br />conduct a Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study for his property located at <br />3505 East Eight Mile Road, Lodi, California. <br />The Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study are combined under this report <br />cover and presented as two sections of this report. The formatting of the report has <br />been designed to follow the recommendations of the San Joaquin County <br />Environmental Health Department as described in its Soil Suitability Study <br />Requirements Checklist and Nitrate Loading Study Requirements Checklist. <br />The Soil Suitability Study was conducted to determine whether the soils are suitable for <br />use with a septic system. The study was performed in accordance with the <br />requirements of Section 9-1105.2(d) of the San Joaquin County Development code. <br />Proposed Development <br />Mr. Judge is proposing to change the zoning of and General Plan designations the Site. <br />He intends to continue its current use as a small trucking yard. <br />The official project description is "to change the General Plan designation of a 4.81 -acre <br />parcel from A/L (Limited Agriculture) to A/I (Agriculture Industrial), and ... change the <br />zoning designation of the parcel from AL -5 (Limited Agriculture, 5 -acre minimum) to A -I <br />(Agriculture Industrial)." <br />Site Description <br />The Site is defined as Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) 059-210-46, approximately <br />4.81 acres in size. It is located at 3505 East Eight Mile Road, Lodi (Plate 1). <br />A modular home (used as an office) and an auxiliary building are located on the Site. A <br />domestic well and septic system serve the modular home (Plate 2). <br />The elevation of the Site, according to a United States Geological Survey topographic <br />map, is approximately 35 feet above mean sea level. The Site is relatively flat (Plate 3). <br />According to the San Joaquin County District Viewer (sjmap.org), the Site is currently <br />zoned AL -5, Limited Agriculture with a minimum parcel size of 5 acres. This zoning <br />designation "is intended to recognize and preserve areas that contain existing <br />concentrations of small-scale agricultural operations and dwellings." <br />LOGE 2236 Page 1 <br />
