6
Paul W. Donoho, R.E.H.S. #6227
(530) 701-9972
Testing protocol
Testing on this system should be for influent and effluent BOD5,TSS and Nitrate to determine reduction
rates of constituents. Also, the pH must be tested, and the Alkalinity feeder adjusted to maintain the pH
between 7 and 8.4. The Carbon feed shall be adjusted to maintain final polishing without overloading
and creating a high BODS output from the polishing filter. All test results should be logged to track
adjustments and removal rates.
The anticipated peak BODS and TSS Reduction rate is z 90%.The Nitrate discharge level is anticipated be
z 10 mg/l. Treatment level will vary based on time of year and external temperatures.
The recirc rates, Alkalinity feeder and Carbon feeder should be adjusted and tuned during the first few
months of operation to achieve the maximum possible removal rates for the Tested constituents.
Further adjustments may be needed at maintenance inspections based on the flows and time of year.
The following Manual is from Orenco° and is for the Operation and
Maintenance of the AX100 fabric filters and Associated Equipment. It is what
your maintenance provider and installer should use for startup and general
maintenance. This copy is being supplied to you for your information. It may
contain references to equipment not in your design. This document and any
future updates will be available to your maintenance provider VIA the Internet
from Orenco°.
