PROJECT : Ahern Road Fueling Station February 28, 2022
Job No : 20 -544 Ross P . Shoat Civil Engineer
Location : 29700 Ahern Road , Tracy, CA A. P . N . 255 -020440
Advantek AX100 Onsite System for a Fueling Station on Ahern Road in San Joaquin County
This system is being proposed for its Nitrate reduction capabilities to comply with the
reduced Nitrate loading required for the area . A Nitrate study was performed by Live Oak Geo
Environmental ; Inc . and it was found that the nitrate loading from a standard onsite system at
that location could potentially result in a discharge up to 5 times higher than the allowable
Nitrate Drinking Water MCL of 10 mg/ L . After treatment the effluent will be discharged by
pressure dosing to a system of 27" deep gravel filled trenches .
The design Load for this facility is being based on San Joaquin County flow standards and
information from the owner . A preliminary calculation was provided by GSV Consulting . That
load is broken down as follows :
1 . Projected flows for customers
i . 630 Vehicles/day
ii . 10 gallons/vehicle
iii . 6, 300 total
b . Employees
i . 30 gallons/employee
ii . 5 employees
iii . 150 gallons/day
2 . The total estimated daily load this design is being based on a 6,450 gallons/day
maximum load with a 3 , 225 gallons/day average load . It will consist mainly of
domestic type water with a small amount incidental food prep waste .
3 . These flows correspond to the design loads and reported usage at a similar Truck Stop
located at the intersection of State Highway 119 and State Highway 5 in Bakersfield .
The size of the leach field is based on the average percolation rate of 3 tests performed within
the disposal field area by Live Oak Geo Environmental ; Inc . . The average of the 3 - percolation
tests is 10 . 13 mpi . That percolation rate when cross referenced with the application rate chart
in the State OWTS manual allows an application rate between . 786 and . 8 gal/sf/day. The
slower of the two rates will be used for design purposes .
