Class II-I <br /> Site Sampling and Observations; <br /> San Joaquin County <br /> From : Gary Reents <br /> Permits, Surveillance and <br /> Enforcement Section <br /> On December 2, 1982, Charles McLaughlin, Steve Posner, and I visited the above <br /> subject site located at 999 Austin Road, south of Stockton in San Joaquin <br /> County. The main objective of the trip was to collect soil samples both on- <br /> site and off-site to document if any barium and strontium wastes have contam- <br /> inated the soils surrounding the disposal trenches. Secondly, a general inspec- <br /> tion of the facility by observation was performed since I was present on-site. <br /> Samples were taken as defined below and as delineated in the attached site map. <br /> The samples taken were: <br /> GAR-1 - barium and strontium waste sludge from FMC <br /> GAR-2 - surface soil approximately 165 feet east of disposal trench <br /> GAR-3 - surface soil approximately 170 feet east of disposal trench <br /> GAR-4 - surface soil approximately 450 feet north of disposal trench <br /> GAR-5 - surface soil approximately 275 feet north of disposal trench <br /> GAR-6 - surface soil approximately 900 feet south of disposal trench <br /> GAR-7 - surface soil approximately 900 - feet southwest of disposal trench <br /> GAR-8 - surface soil approximately 400 feet west of disposal trench <br /> GAR-9 - surface soil approximately 350 feet west of disposal trench <br /> GAR-10 - liquid leachate sample near sludge pile at side of disposal trench <br /> GAR-11 - surface soil at north boundary of the site, approximately 550 feet <br /> from northeast corner <br /> GAR-12 - same location as GAR-11 except at approximately 1.5 foot depth <br />
