Gooderham, Aaron [EHD]
From: Gooderham, Aaron [EHD]
Sent: Monday, October 10, 2022 1:23 PM
To: Brian Millman
Subject: RE: 16402 Escalon Bellota Road, Escalon - Azevedo Prop
Dear Brian,
I am working on the SSNL for this property. You use 45 ppm for the NW value (wastewater concentration of nitrogen); I
would accept 35 ppm for residential use.
You use 40% for denitrification; this value is too high. In a clayey soil we would accept a max denitrification value of 30%.
Unless you can provide a source that has found 40% denitrification in onsite waste water treatment to be accurate. The
original Hantzsche-Finnemore study uses 25% denitrification but we have accepted 30% in the past in clayey soils, which
are found in this area.
After I changed these values the long-term nitrate loading is 14.53 ppm. This is above our tolerance for long-term nitrate
loading so a nitrogen treatment system will be required here. Let me know if you have any questions,
Aaron Gooderham — REHS
Environmental Health Department — County of San Joaquin
Website: https://www.sigov.org/department/envhealth/
Main Line: (209) 468-3420
From: Brian Millman <bmillman@advancedgeo.biz>
Sent: Monday, September 19, 2022 9:44 AM
To: Gooderham, Aaron [EHD] <aooderham@sjgov.org>
Subject: RE: 16402 Escalon Bellota Road, Escalon - Azevedo Prop
Got it!
