CELL PHONE USE & SMOKING POLICY <br /> Personal Cell Phone Use: <br /> It is the policy of Alco Iron & Metal that personal cell phone use is not permitted during <br /> employee working shifts. Cell phone use is permitted during meal and rest break <br /> periods, however personal calls must be made in designated "safety zones"on <br /> Alco's property, or off the premises. The designated safety zones for Alco Iron & Metal <br /> employees are limited to employee meal and rest break rooms. Alco is not responsible <br /> for the loss of personal cell phones brought to the work place. <br /> Driver Related Cell Phone Use: <br /> If your job requires that you keep your cell phone turned on while you are driving, you <br /> must use a hands free device. Under no circumstance should employees place phone <br /> calls while operating a motor vehicle or company equipment. In addition, writing, <br /> sending or reading text-based communication, including text messaging, instant <br /> messaging and email on a wireless device or cell phone while driving is also prohibited <br /> under this policy. <br /> Smoking_Policy: <br /> In accordance with California Labor Code Section 404.5, Alco Iron & Metal will not allow smoking in the <br /> workplace during working hours. Employees are permitted to smoke while on their lunch break and/or <br /> rest break, prior to and after Alco's business hours only in designated areas. <br /> Designated Areas for San Leandro include: <br /> • Doolittle customer parking lot(South side of lot) <br /> • Davis employee parking lot <br /> *Under no circumstances will smoking be allowed around the Main Hazardous Waste Containment <br /> areas or Satellite Accumulation Stations. All employees are required to follow this smoking <br /> policy. Any employees caught smoking in prohibited areas will be subject to Alco's discipline & <br /> termination procedures. <br /> I have read and understand Alco's Cell Phone Use & Smoking policies. 1 will adhere to these policies at <br /> all times. <br /> Employee Name Signature Date <br /> Trainer's Name Signature Date <br />
