WORK PLAN FOR LIMITED SITE INVESTIGATION
Irerracon
Raising Cane' s Restaurant ( C0530 ) Stockton , California
October 27 , 2020 Terracon Project No . NA207025
Additional soil samples may be selected for delivery to the analytical laboratory . However , these
soil samples will be placed on hold for potential contingent analyses , if recommended based on
review of the initial soil sample analytical results .
The soil samples will be collected into laboratory- prepared containers . The containers will be
labeled and placed on ice in a cooler. The soil samples and completed chain - of- custody forms
will be transported to a State of California - certified laboratory for analysis .
5 - Foot Vapor Probe Installation and Soil Gas Sampling
Three ( 3 ) shallow soil borings advanced to the proposed depth of approximately 5 feet bgs will be
converted into temporary vapor probes at a depth of approximately 5 feet bgs using GeoProbe®
tooling , within the footprint of the proposed Raising Cane ' s building , for the collection of soil gas
samples . The proposed vapor probe locations are shown on the attached Exhibit 1 - Site Diagram .
Terracon ' s vapor probes installation and soil gas sampling will be conducted in general
accordance with the California Environmental Protection Agency ( CAL - EPA ) , Department of Toxic
Substances Control ( DTSC ) , Los Angeles and San Francisco Regional Water Quality Control
Board ( LA - and SF - RWQCB ) Advisory — Active Soil Gas Investigation guidance document , dated
July 2015 . Following completion of soil gas sampling activities , the GeoProbe ® tooling and sample
tubing will be removed and the borings will be closed in - place with cement grout and patched at
the surface to match existing conditions .
The soil gas samples will be collected in laboratory- provided , labeled , dedicated 1 - Liter Summa
( or similar ) stainless steel canisters . The soil gas samples and completed chain -of-custody forms
will be transported to a State of California -certified laboratory for analysis .
2 . 6 . 2 Boring Abandonment
Terracon will schedule the backfilling inspection with the SJCEHD no later than 48 hours prior to
planned field work activities to ensure the availability of an SJCEHD representative . Additionally ,
Terracon will confirm the field work date and inspection time with the inspector 24 hours prior to
field work .
At the completion of sampling activities and in the presence of an SJCEHD representative , the soil
borings will be backfilled using neat cement . A tremie pipe will be lowered to within 3 feet of the
bottom of the boring and the cement slurry will be deposited into the borings via the tremie pipe .
23 Investigative Derived Waste
Based on the method of investigation proposed for the site ( direct push continuous coring ) , the
generation of significant volume of investigation - derived ( IDW ) is not anticipated .
