2000-2001 WINTERIZATION PLAN
a 4:21
1. • Reseeding and Erosion Control
The condition of the vegetative cover of Forward Landfill has been evaluated and
areas that require reseeding or areas that seeding has not been required and now
are, have been scheduled for early fall.
All erosion from the winter of 1999-2000 has been repaired by applying additional
clay and compacting all outside slopes at 3:1 to enhance runoff and help eliminate
erosion. Additional piping has been installed where necessary.
2. Drainage
Non -contact water will be directed to The Non -Contact Water Sediment Pond
located on the North Side of the South Fork of Little Johns Creek in the South West
Corner of Forward Landfill. Non -Contact water is delivered to the pond through a
series of underground piping, ditches, catch basins and pump stations. Non -Contact
water is held in the Sediment Pond until it is sampled and analyzed in accordance
with Forward Landfill's storm `Nater monitoring plan, then discharged to the South
Fork of Little John's Creek. A log is kept on site recording the volume of storm
water discharged to the South Fork of Little John's Creek.
The southern toe ditch that carries non -contact water along the southern perimeter
to the clean water pond has been cleaned and regraded by Ford Construction
Company. Down drains have been extended where needed to accommodate the
higher elevations.
Winter2000-2001.doc
