Reviewer Nadia Hollan Burke Organization Environmental Protection Agency Date July 14, 2020
Item Reference Review Comment Response
3. Section 1.3,
Previous
Investigations,
Page 3, and Figure
6, Time-Series Plot
Section 1.3 states that concentrations of
trichloroethene (TCE) have been increasing since 2012
and references Figure 6, but Figure 6 is not labeled to
indicate that the data references concentrations at
MW505C. Additionally, Section 1.3 states that the TCE
concentrations have been rising since 2012, but Figure
6 shows increasing TCE concentrations since 2005.
Please revise Section 1.3 to more accurately describe
the information presented on Figure 6. Additionally,
please revise the Figure 6 title to indicate that the data
is from well MW505C.
Revised. The figure tile has been updated. The text was
revised to indicate TCE concentrations have been
slightly increasing since 2005.
4. Section 3.1.5,
Support Facilities,
Page 6
Section 3.1.5 states, "Decontamination facilities will
consist of portable secondary containment for
personnel and an equipment decontamination pad,"
but it is unclear what is included in the "portable
secondary containment for personnel" and where the
decontamination pad will be placed. A figure should
be revised to include the location of the
decontamination pad. Please revise Section 3.1.5 to
provide additional information regarding portable
secondary containment for personnel. Additionally,
please revise the text to discuss the location of the
decontamination pad and include this location on a
figure.
Revised. Portable secondary containment for personnel
is not expected to be needed and has been removed
from the section. The location of the equipemnt
decontamination pad has been included in Section 3.1.5
and Figure 2.
5. Section 3.2.1, Well
Construction,
Page 7:
Section 3.2.1 indicates that well construction diagrams
are presented on Figures 12 to 14 but they are found
on Figures 13 to 15. Please revise the text to reference
the correct construction diagram figures.
Revised. The referenced text was changed to Figure 13
to 15.
