Site Specific Health, Safety and Environmental Plan
5

3.0 Scope of Work

3.1 SLR and Subcontractor Work Tasks
Brief description of work scope:
The scope of work is presented as a tiered approach for supplemental site characterization. Tier I includes
conducting a closed-circuit television (CCTV) inspection of the sewer line from the dry cleaner to the sewer
alignment in the alley and then along the alignment in the alley to identify any potential damaged/cracked
areas that would indicate potential source areas for contamination to soil/groundwater. Tier I also includes
the use a semi-quantitative, field-screening device known as a Membrane Interface and Hydraulic Profiling
Tool (MiHPT) probe that can detect VOCs and some SVOCs in the vadose and saturated zones. Ten soil
borings will be advanced to a maximum depth of 25 ft bgs utilizing a MiHPT probe to determine the extent
of VOC impacts in soil, soil vapor, and groundwater. Following the MiHPT investigation, three temporary,
dual-nested soil vapor probes will be installed at 5 and 10 ft bgs, with tubing for air sampling at each
boring.. Additionally, four sub slab vapor monitoring points (Vapor Pins®) will be installed. Soil gas samples
will be collected from the temporary soil vapor probes and the sub slab vapor monitoring points, and
analyzed for VOCs by EPA Method TO-15. Following completion of the sampling, the temporary borings
will be drilled out, sealed and abandoned with neat cement according to San Joaquin County Department
of Environmentla Health standards.
Based on the results of Tier I, SLR proposes to conduct indoor and outdoor air sampling as part of Tier II.
The tasks and sampling locations defined in Tier II will be adjusted based on the results of Tier I

Does this project involve ground disturbance activities? Yes ☒ No ☐
If “Yes”, be sure to fill out the SLR utility clearance log and ground disturbance checklist (see Appendix A)
Does this project involve a SLR Subcontractor(s)? Yes ☒ No ☐
If “Yes”, provide a description of their work scope(s):

Enprobe will handle all coring, drilling operations, probe enplacements, and sample retrieval for soil and
groundwater sampling.

Is the subcontractor(s) performing “Safety Critical” activities? Yes ☒ No ☐ N/A ☐
If “Yes” have they been pre-approved by HSE Mangement for such work? Yes ☒ No ☐ N/A ☐
Elevated Risk Task List -
Select any and all that apply to the planned scope of work (includes SLR’s subcontractor(s) as well):
