Kaiser Permanente facilities throughout the San Joaquin County has <br /> characterized all glass and plastic items capable of cutting or piercing, that store blood or other <br /> potentially infectious material as potential sharps. As such, Kaiser Permanente disposes of <br /> these items as sharps in the sharps waste containers. Examples of these items include: <br /> 1. Test Tubes (plastic and glass) <br /> 2. Evacuation Containers (glass) <br /> 3. Microscope slides (glass) <br /> 4. Pipettes (plastic and glass) <br /> 5.
