1420 Tracy Boulevard
Tracy, California 953 76
Talaphone 209/835-1500
July 23, 1979
Jack J. Williams, M.D.
District Health Officer, San Joaquin
Local Health District
1601 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, CA.
Dear Dr. Williams:
This letter is to inform you -of the recent history of waste disposal
at Tracy Community Memorial ..Hospital (TCMH). I am seeking approval of
our final resolution of the problem.
A new and presumably the most technologically advanced incinerator was
installed at TCMH as part of the Hospital's building expansion program
in 1977/78. Unfortunately, and since this incinerator was labeled
"non -acceptable" by the San Joaquin County Pollution Control Board,
TCMH had to resort to interim measures.
To date, all contaminated waste has been double -sealed, and then transported
to Delta Labs, Stockton, CA. Delta Labs has sterilized and disposed of this
waste.,
For the past several months, TCMH has had on order L_C_US_tkM__kUI1t_CQUpaL±ar
with more than adgqMAte_5jgrjjjjjgg compactor t- capabilities. This c pactor will
be delivered to TCMH by mid-August. Delta Las services will no longer
be needed.
I hope that the use of this special compactor meets your approval.
Sincerely yours,
A
Ru A.
