Wade San Joaquin County <br />Mary Anna Love Jogi Khanna, M.D., M.P.H., District Health Officer San Joaquin County <br />July 16, 1985 <br />Linda Hutchings <br />Tracy Community Memorial Hospital <br />1420 Tracy Blvd. <br />Tracy, CA 95376 <br />RE: Infectious Waste Disposal Plan <br />A preliminary walk-through inspection of your facility was conducted by our <br />representatives on May 8, 1985 to evaluate your existing infectious waste disposal <br />plan. The following changes are to be incorporated to meet the new regulations: <br />1. Section 66840) - Reusable containers for infectious waste shall be <br />conspiciously labeled with the words "Infectious Waste" or with the <br />international biohazard symbol on the lid and on the sides so as to be <br />readily visible from any lateral direction when the container is upright. <br />2. Section 66840e) - Containment of infectious waste shall be separated <br />from other wastes. Areas where infectious waste is stored shall be <br />properly posted and secured to deny access to unauthorized personnel. <br />f 3. Your infectious waste bin placed outside the surgery room must be kept <br />in a secured area so as to deny access to unauthorized personnel. <br />4.; Section 66845a)3) - Cleaning area where infectious waste containers are <br />washed and decontaminated shall be properly drained and plumbed to the <br />public sewer` <br />5.
