Called the PG&E PRESTO
Environmental Hotline from his voicemail message to each the person afterhours.
Spoke with the operator and gave her information and asked her to transfer me to
the afterhours specialist. Was transferred to Lauren Mill who was unable to pull
information about the spill up. Asked if she gets any updates to please give me a
call. Called Dave Larson with PG&E to check if he was part of clean up at this site,
he did not answer. Received a call from Alex Steele that the clean up company
Patriot Environmental Services is on the way and the area is secured by PG&E
and should be safe to do a site visit. Per Alex poles on another street fell and
pulled down the pole with the transformer.
(7:06pm - 8:00pm)
On site for clean-up verification. Met with Jim Zimmer, PG&E foreman. Per Jim an
accident caused an impact to a pole on the other side of the street which pulled
down 2 other poles including this one that had a transformer. The transformer
caused a release of approximately 10-gallons of mineral oil. The release impacted
the asphalt and gutter. No storm drains were impacted as a result of the release.
Per Mark, Patriot Environmental Supervisor, the oil is not PCB and will stain due to
the nature of the oil. The spill was cleaned with absorbent sand, washed with
water and sprayed with Bio-Chem (to eat the oil) then brushed with more
absorbent sand. The absorbent sand was placed in one 55-gallon drum for
disposal as non-hazardous waste. Approximately 25-gallons of waste was
generated. The waste will be taken to PG&E Yard at 4040 West Lane, Stockton.
Clean up has been completed.
(8:00 pm - 10:42pm)
07/06/2022 I received a call from Alex Steele of PG&E (209-337-8902) reporting that there
was an approximately 10 gallon release of mineral oil from a pole mounted
transformer. Alex stated that it happened at approximately 3:30pm and a crew
has not been dispatched to the location. I advised Alex to call our main line for
clean-up updates.
VANG-LEE
I generated a complaint record. I contacted Yvette Cisneros (Executive Assistant)
of Stockton Unified School District's office of the superintendent and notified her of
the release.
07/07/2022 Completed emergency response record, photo log and narrative entries PRESTO
5105.rpt Page 1 of 2
