SAN JOAQUIN

Environmental Health Department
CCU NT Y
COMPLAINT INSPECTION REPORT
Name of Facility: PACIFIC GAS & ELECTRIC COMPANY Date: 07/06/2022
Address 40 W SONORA ST, STOCKTON
Owner/Operator: Telephone:
Program Element: 2546 - RELEASE/SPILL RESPONSE (EXCLUDING JOINT TEAM) Complaint #: COZBXV7PD
Responsible Party Contact: ALEX STEELE
DESCRIPTION OF COMPLAINT ALLEGATIONS
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department received the following complaint:
10-gallons of mineral oil released from a pole mounted transformer that fell as a result of other poles falling. No other
releases occurred.
OVERALL INSPECTION NOTES AND COMMENTS
COMMENTS AND OBSERVATIONS
On site for clean-up verification. Met with Jim Zimmer, PG&E foreman. Per Jim an accident caused an impact to a pole on the
other side of the street which pulled down 2 other poles including this one that had a transformer. The transformer caused a
release of approximately 10-gallons of mineral oil. The release impacted the asphalt and gutter. No storm drains were
impacted as a result of the release. Per Mark, Patriot Environmental Supervisor, the oil is not PCB and will stain due to the
nature of the oil. The spill was cleaned with absorbent sand, washed with water and sprayed with Bio-Chem then brushed with
more absorbent sand. The absorbent sand was placed in one 55-gallon drum for disposal as non-hazardous waste.
Approximately 25-gallons of waste was generated. The waste will be taken to PG&E Yard at 4040 West Lane, Stockton.
Clean up has been completed.
Please provide EHD a copy of the sample results and disposal records for the waste generated from the spill clean-up.
The person in charge is responsible for ensuring that the above mentioned facility is in compliance with all applicable sections of the California Health and
Safety Code. If a reinspection is required, fees will be assessed at the current hourly rate.
Received by: Name and Title: Ennailed to Alex Steele, Environmenta
EH Specialist: CAROL PRESTO Phone: (209) 616-3061
COZBXV7PD SC974 07/06/2022
END 25-01 Rev. 04/07/22 Page 1 of 1 Complaint Inspection Report
1868 E.
