nnovative <br /> onstruction <br /> olutions <br /> 6 . 3 . 1 RESPIRATORY PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT <br /> Upon request, ICS shall provide a copy of their respiratory protection program . <br /> Cal - OSHA T8 CCR § 5144 requires employers to establish and implement a written respiratory <br /> protection program with worksite -specific procedures in any workplace where respiratory <br /> protection is required to protect the health of an employee , or when respiratory protection is <br /> required by the employer . <br /> This HASP contains the critical worksite -specific procedures which stipulate how respiratory <br /> protective equipment will be safely and effectively used on the job site . Under no circumstance <br /> will ICS provide respiratory protection to or for our clients, regulators, and or subcontractors . <br /> The following information and tables 6- 1 and 6 - 2 pertain to respiratory protection : <br /> • Unless an end - of- service - life indicator ( ESLI ) is available for the contaminant ( s ) of <br /> concern , a change - out schedule has been provided for personnel utilizing air - purifying <br /> respirators for protection against particulates, gases and vapors . <br /> • Air monitoring protocols have been identified ( see table 6 - 1 ) so that the use <br /> concentrations required in the determination of a change - out schedule can be verified . <br /> Instrumentation relative - response factors must also be incorporated into the air <br /> monitoring protocols . <br /> • All personnel who will use respiratory protective equipment must have completed a <br /> medical evaluation in accordance with the requirements of 8 CCR § 5144 ( e ) — see section <br /> 7 . 0 below . <br /> • All ICS personnel who will use respiratory protective equipment have successfully <br /> completed a qualitative test within the last year . All others in the ICS exclusion zone must <br /> provide the necessary information prior to entering the exclusion zone <br /> • Should supplied breathing equipment be used , a discussion of breathing air quality and <br /> use procedures shall be provided as an addendum to this HASP plan . <br /> 51 <br />
