BRAVO Flushing Procedure
PROBLEM SOLVED
Doublewall Flushing and Replacing Fluid
This Instruction Set for the procedure of Flushing and Replacing Interstitial Fluid must be
performed by a Bravo Certified Contractor for DoubleWall products.
DRAINING THE INTERSTITIAL FLUID
1) Prepare a clean empty bucket per sump.
2) Disconnect line from the upper test port (highest connection point). In a UDC this is the atmospheric
manometer, and in a Tank Sump that is the breather tube. Reconnect the gauge assembly and connect
to the ball valve in the closed position and tubing from the Bravo T900 Kit.
3) Place the empty collection bucket near the low point and bottom test port. In UDC's, disconnect tube
from the large manometer and place the tube into the empty collection bucket. For Tank Sumps, the
base of the Tank Sump will have a test port with the plug in it. One can connect a Y2" nipple with a
closed ball valve to the test port to have the ability to limit flow. Have the flow into the empty bucket.
4) In the case of a UDC the flow will start when the ball valve on the upper test port is opened. The fluid
will start to flow freely and you have the ability to control the flow.
5) During the process stop the flow of fluid so that a new collection bucket can be put in place.
6) Once the level is at its lowest point one can manually assist by connecting air hose to
gauge assy and apply less than 4 psi to remove additional liquid removal.
FLUSHING THE SUMP WITH WATER
1) With the Sump drained of incorrect or contaminated fluid prepare two buckets of water to flush out any
remaining fluid. The collection bucket will still need to be empty and in position.
2) Prime the line with the ball valve in the closed position with clean water. Insert the primed line into water
supply, with the collection bucket in place open the ball valve.
3) Flush with water until fluid that is coming out the bottom test port is clear and clean.
UL2447 is the standard for secondary containment and covers sumps
and lids, sump fittings and sump accessories. Products are tested in
accelerated conditions that have long term use in environments with
SNFST extreme heat and cold, aggressive biofuel and ethanol blends, and
extreme soil environments.
Get Bravo Certified Today — Contact Your Sales Manager
