I am happy to say that I believe the inspection went <br />well with only a few items needing to be addressed. The GUIDELINES FOR THE MEDICAL WASTE <br />MANAGEMENT PLAN forms are enclosed for your review. <br />The following information is in response to the items identified during the inspection of our facilities: <br />• "SHARPS CONTAINERS ONLY" signage; container found inside the 2W utility room with <br />incomplete labeling has been corrected, additionally all other areas have been confirmed as <br />having new signs in place, see attached copy. <br />• "UNSECURED BIOHAZARDOUS WASTE CONTAINER" outside ER; was relocated during time of <br />inspection. Additional provisions have been made to assure compliance with placement of <br />container inside ER area by both Environmental Services and ER staff. <br />• "STERILIZER CHARTS" daily confirmation of clarity of markings in progress, discussion with staff <br />and revisions made to reflect this need in waste sterilizer operation procedures. <br />• "ANNUAL CALIBRATION REPORTS" current copies have been obtained for both 1997 and 1998, <br />copies attached. <br />• "MEDICAL WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN" updated, copy included with this report. <br />Please contact me with any questions or additional requirements that you may have.
