Box 2009 RECEIVE
Stockton, CA 95201
J U L 17 1SO
RE: INFECTIOUS WASTE/LODI MEMORIAL HOSPITAL ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
PERMIT/SERVICES
Dear Mr. Wickes,
Pursuant to our telephone conversation on Monday, July 9,
1990, we have found infectious waste from Lodi Memorial Hospital
in "Red Bags", and cardboard hampers with the "Bio Hazard" labels
on them deposited in their refuse compactor. We discovered these
infectious waste items on Monday, June 25, 1990, Friday, June 29,
1990, and Friday, July 5, 1990. The infectious waste items
discovered in their refuse compactor did not have any indication
that they were sterilized in any way.
It is my understanding that San Joaquin County Environmental
Health has approved their method of sterilization and disposal. -
If the infectious waste which we discovered in the refuse
compactor is an approved method of disposal, please confirm in
writing.
It is imperative that I have a letter on file to protect our
employees and reduce our liability of injuries that my occur
while handling any infectious waste.
If you have any questions, please call me at 369-8279.
Respectfully yours,
--------------
z-
L
THOMAS A.
