Gloves and a cover coat will be worn at all times when handeling any <br />trash or cleaning the infectious waste cart. <br />2. If an infectious waste bag breaks, the cart is to be washed with <br />the phenolic solution and then taken to the cart washing room <br />and is to'be steam cleaned immediately. <br />3,- This room has a drain that goes into the sewer system only. <br />4. When the cleaning process is completed you are to take dry rags and <br />dry the cart to prevent dripping water on the floors and causing <br />a fall. <br />Infectious Waste Spill Cleaning, Procedure <br />1. Place paper towels over and around the spill to prevent the spill <br />from spreading. <br />2. Post a wet floor sign to prevent any falls or "having the infectious <br />material carried on shoes, <br />3, Always wear gloves and cover coat, collect all paper towels and <br />place in a red infectious waste bag. <br />4. Then the contaminated area is to be cleaned with a phenolic <br />solution and allowed to dry prior to removing the wet floor signs. <br />5, At L.M.W. the red bag will be taken to the infectious waste locker <br />and placed in the appropriate box for pickup by the contracted <br />hauler. At L,M.H. the red bag is placed into a auto clave bag and <br />is sterilized according to procedure. <br />E <br />I <br />
