SAN JOAQUIN <br /> Environmental Health Department <br />cou N FY <br />COMPLAINT INSPECTION REPORT <br />Name of Facility: BURLINGTON NO & SANTA FE RR CO Date: 07/11/2022 <br />Address: 6540 S AUSTIN RD, STOCKTON <br />Owner/Operator: BURLINGTON NO & SANTA FE RR CO Telephone: <br />Program Element: 2546- RELEASE/SPILL RESPONSE (EXCLUDING JOINT TEAM) Complaint #: COVVT5SWGL <br />Responsible Party Contact JEFF HANKINS <br />DESCRIPTION OF COMPLAINT ALLEGATIONS <br />The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department received the following complaint: <br />1-gallon of diesel released from a refrigeration trailer on to the asphalt at the Stockton Intermodal Facility. No waterways <br />were impacted and BNSF is currently cleaning up the spill. <br />OVERALL INSPECTION NOTES AND COMMENTS <br />COMMENTS AND OBSERVATIONS <br />San Joaquin County Environmental Health received page and spill report on July 6, 2022 regarding a 1 gallon diesel release <br />on the asphalt at the BNSF Stockton Intermodal Facility from a refrigeration trailer. No waterways were impacted and is being <br />cleaned up by BNSF. Called and spoke with BNSF dispatch who provided information for John Brainard, BNSF LARS <br />Manager and Jeff Hankins, BNSF Hazardous Materials Manager. Called and spoke with Jeff who stated that the trailer has <br />been moved to their containment pit and it is dripping at a rate of 10 drips per minute. The intermodal facility is located at <br />6540 S Austin Rd, Stockton. They have hired US Ecology to conduct clean up in the containment pit and they are doing clean <br />up today. Clean up was completed at approximately 10:42pm with absorbent sand. Four 55-gallon drums of waste were <br />generated from the clean up and will be sent as Non-RCRA hazardous waste to Hazmat TSDF Inc. Less than 1-gallon was <br />released onto the asphalt and a total of 5-gallons was released overall. <br />Inspection report for clean up was emailed to John Brainard atjohn.brainard@BNSF.com <br />The person in charge is responsible for ensuring that the above mentioned facility is in compliance with all applicable sections of the California Health and <br />Safety Code.
