The service technician removed approximately 20 gallons of
liquid from the 87 STP sump. Ensure that all sumps and annular spaces are maintained free of liquid.
This is a repeat violation, Class II.
308 CCR 2632(c), 2634(d), 2636(f) Failure of the leak detection equipment to have an audible and visual alarm.
OBSERVATION: The BRAVO float and chain in UDC 7/8 failed to stop the flow of product at the dispenser when
tested.
REGULATION GUIDANCE:All monitoring equipment shall be maintained to activate an audible and visual alarm or
stop the flow of product at the dispenser when it detects a leak.
CORRECTIVE ACTION: Correct immediately by having a properly licensed, trained, and certified contractor replace
the failed component with a functional component(LG 113-x listed, if applicable), and obtain a permit within one
business day from the EHD, if needed. If the failed component can't be replaced immediately, there is a possibility
that the 91-grade UST system may be red tagged to prevent fuel inputs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OBSERVATION: The float and chains in the UDC 5/6 failed to stop the flow of product at the dispenser when tested.
REGULATION GUIDANCE:All monitoring equipment shall be maintained to activate an audible and visual alarm or
stop the flow of product at the dispenser when it detects a leak.
CORRECTIVE ACTION: This was corrected on site. The service technician adjusted the float and chain and verified
functionality.
This is a Class II violation.
317 CCR 2636(f)(2) Failure of the line leak detector to detect a 3.0 gph leak at 10 psi and restrict or shut off flow.
OBSERVATION: The 91-grade line leak detector failed to detect a leak when tested.
REGULATION GUIDANCE:All line leak detectors shall be capable of detecting a 3-gallon per hour leak at 10 psi.
CORRECTIVE ACTION: This was corrected on site. The leak detector was replaced and retested during the
inspection.
This is a Class II violation.
FA0003735 PR0231083 SCO01 02/14/2023
EHD 23-01 Rev.12/06/2021 Page 6 of 7 Underground Storage Tank Program OIR
1868 E.
