SAN J O A Q U I N Environmental Health Department <br /> COUNTY <br /> h . Visual inspection of the piping and penetrations within the dispensers <br /> i . If concrete will be broken near the 87 and diesel underground storage tanks ( USTs ) , a <br /> secondary containment test must be performed on the 87 and diesel USTs once <br /> concrete is poured in accordance with the manufacturer' s guidelines . <br /> 4 . Secondary containment testing for the 87 , diesel , and satellite under dispenser containment <br /> sumps is required six months after installation . Provide 48 hours notification to the EHD when <br /> this test is scheduled . <br /> 5 . Individuals installing underground storage tank system components must possess or work <br /> under the direct and personal supervision of an individual physically present at the work site <br /> who possesses all of the following : <br /> a . A valid , current contractor' s license issued by the Contractors State License Board <br /> b . A valid , current UST Installation/ Retrofitting certificate issued by the International Code <br /> Council ( ICC) <br /> c . A valid , current certificate of training from the manufacturer(s ) of the component (s) <br /> being installed <br /> 6 . Any individual performing the work of a service technician must meet the following <br /> qualifications : <br /> a . Possess or be employed by a person who possesses one of several permissible valid , <br /> current contractor' s licenses issued by the Contractors State License Board ( may be <br /> issued to the installation company) , or a Tank Tester' s license issued to the individual <br /> by the State Water Board <br /> b . Possess or work under the direct and personal supervision of an individual physically <br /> present at the work site who possesses a valid , current California UST Service <br /> Technician certificate issued by the International Code Council ( ICC) <br /> c . Possesses a valid , current certificate of training from the manufacturer(s ) of the <br /> component( s) being tested , repaired , or serviced <br /> 7 . The contractor shall provide the following : <br /> a . Adequate number(s) and appropriate type (s ) of fire extinguisher(s) <br /> b . Barriers to secure the area as necessary to minimize traffic and pedestrian interference <br /> 8 . A copy of this approval letter and the EHD permit packet shall be on site during removal . <br /> 9 . If the removed backfill material and soil is found to be contaminated it must be disposed of at <br /> an approved disposal location . Treatment of soil on site can only be performed under a <br /> hazardous waste treatment permit . <br /> 10 . See ' Sampling Protocol for Routine Tank Removals ' and 'Verification Analysis ' on page 5 of the <br /> permit application for required analytical tests and number of samples to be taken and <br /> witnessed by EHD . <br /> 11 . The following information must be submitted within 30 days after the UDC removal date : <br /> a . Analytical results : Only results that come directly from a third - party California certified <br /> laboratory with affixed chain of custody will be accepted by EHD <br /> 12 . Permit expires 180 days from the date of approval .
