All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health <br />and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. <br /> #10 Disinfectant Residual MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: The chlorine in the spa was 13.0 ppm. Maintain chlorine between 3.0-10.0 at spa when operating. Keep <br />spa closed until correction is verified by EHD. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Public pools, when open or in use, shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall maintain <br />the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with cyanuric acid <br />or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools, and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations: 3.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free <br />chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine. (CCR 65529) <br /> #25 Spa Emergency Shut Off Switch MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: The emergency shut off switch did not turn off the spa pump, it only shut off the spa jets. Provide <br />properly working emergency shut off switch that shuts off both the spa pump/recirculation system and the spa jets when <br />switched is flipped. Keep spa closed until correction is verified by EHD. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: A clearly labeled emergency shut off switch for both the spa recirculation and jet/aeration systems shall be <br />installed adjacent to the spa pool. (CBC 3138B) <br /> #13 Cyanuric Acid Concentration <br />OBSERVATIONS: The cyanuric acid was greater than 100 ppm. Maintain cyanuric acid between 0-100 ppm when <br />operating. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall maintain cyanuric acid concentration between 0.0 ppm and 100 ppm. (CCR 65530) <br /> #18 Pool Shell and Tile <br />OBSERVATIONS: Observed chipping spa pool shell. Replaster spa by next year. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool shells shall be white and have a smooth waterproof interior finish that will withstand repeated brushing, <br />and scrubbing. A spa pool may be finished in a light color other than white when approved by the enforcement agency.
