Good Afternoon Stacy,
Costco is planning to transition the Gasoline Additive product. The new additive package is similar to the current
package. A comparison of the two formulas can be found in, "ULTRAZOL° GA9058 Technical Document." The only
component change is where the detergent technology ratios are shifted slightly for a more effective product. The
current gasoline product is ULTRAZOL° 9888. The new gasoline product will be ULTRAZOL° GA9058. It is our
understanding once the current product sells down, the new additive can be dropped on top with no requirement to
pump out the tank or rinse.
Lubrizol is a manufacturer of additives commonly used in fuels and lubricants. Lubrizol conducts vigorous bench and
screening testing on all its products. Our manufacturing plants conduct assessments on the chemistries found in our
products to ensure they are compatible with all the materials the additive may encounter throughout our production
facilities. The components used to formulate ULTRAZOL° GA9058 have passed a wide range of fuel industry tests and
the chemistries have been in continuous use without reported problems to either fuel distribution or vehicle fuel
systems or any known harm to engine parts or materials. ULTRAZOL° GA9058 has been registered with US EPA in
accordance with 40 CFR 79 (EPA List of Certified Detergent Additives).
Attached are the current product SDS, the new product MSDS, and the ULTRAZOL Technical Document for your review.
Both chemicals have the same hazard classification based on the flash point and boiling point listed. Therefore, since no
change of the hazard class is involved, we believe that no additional permitting or advanced notifications are required
for this change. CERS will be updated within 30 days of the modification.
Can you please confirm if any permitting or advanced notifications will be required when this change occurs?
I appreciate your assistance, please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Nick
Nick Listar I Project Coordinator I Certified Class A/B Operator
Office: 425-251-6222 1 Direct: 425-656-1060
Barghausen Consulting Engineers, Inc.
1821572 nd Avenue South, Kent, WA 98032
http://secure-web.cisco.com/llk6mkicWmNuQrhG-
UcA4s8gyDclyHnhziul 8banC5bitthOnZPRY4AdObu8o4rZ1JpkJGa7EeoLgUVXBdPHHOseAQdC51dTSzZgVNkovwnwlni7B
Kgf60TQpEM8aWCUTzOWYrkKr4UoIO9-uYrAXBzKIBBNUnZW5noxAEhWWomUlHbr8pSM 9totalukF V310cw-
rOoJuM3z3Q00wwigYT8AW50-DUzBLGSSUmuabpLtgn4Op1iQkJBdmv9k5SnB51KbgyXOz44gXeUB31L5zfhPQogBBRga-
ha 14UMK50G4JHR6 pfNX8PZ5g9fBVVtYSosPGCSQnJdR-AASrVJ-y72UniK7mxWrAm8N14tM-
8g5H11ZmrnCn2iLBU2r/http%3A%2F%2Fwww.barghausen.com
