Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the
sender and know the content is safe.
I received your information from John Brainard, BNSF Railway Load and Ride Solutions Manager. I was looking for a bit
more information regarding the sodium hydroxide clean up from 4/28/2022and John suggested I reach out to you
instead.
Do you know who the responsible party was- Generator of waste was R+L Carriers.
How was the spill cleaned up and was a pH taken afterward- Spill was cleaned up inside trailer by adding a
neutralizing solution. Recoverable product was transferred into poly tote(s) for disposal. PH of floor after clean
up was —6-7.
How much waste was generated- Generated 1 x Poly Tote with —225g of Sodium Hydroxide / Potassium
Hydroxide Mixture and 7 x55g drums of used ppe/plastic/debris ( neutralized)
Where was the waste taken to- Waste is still on site awaiting pick up for disposal later this week.
I was also looking to get a copy of the waste manifest and any before and after photos of the spill that you may have. I
can send you a copy of waste manifest once it is picked up.
Thank you.
Carlos Sanchez
Emergency Response Manager Northern California Region
carlos.sanchez@usecology.com
0:916.371.7202 I c: 91 ,
US ecology
24-Hour Emergency Response: (800) 899-4672
From: Presto, Carol [EHD] <cpresto@sjgov.org>
Sent: Monday, May 9, 2022 2:14 PM
To: Carlos Sanchez <Carlos.Sanchez@usecology.com >
Subject: COOTAH6UH - 6540 S Austin Rd, Stockton - sodium hydroxide release on 4/28/2022
CAUTION: This email originated from outside of the organization.
