From what I <br />gathered, the clean-up was completed by US Ecology and no evacuations/injuries occurred as a result of <br />the spill and it was unknown how this spill was missed being reported. I had a couple of questions <br />regarding the spill that I'm hoping you could answer: <br />Was the cause of the spill determined? <br />A pallet above each of the two IBC totes shifted and punctured the totes <br />Was is confirmed that the spilled material was sodium hydroxide? <br />Yes <br />How much was the final spill amount — still 1-gallon? <br />1 gallon on the facility though approx. 120 gallons total was missing from the container <br />How was the spill cleaned and how much waste was generated from the spill clean-up? <br />US ecology neutralize the material wipe down the affected areas and collected it into over packs, with the waist <br />being manifested through the shipper or plus L carriers and removed by US ecology <br />How was the waste generated classified (hazardous waste or not)?
