23IN000195 <br />Narrative <br />GKH Global Services <br />HXIL9354 arrived at the destination hub- BNSF Stockton CA on 1/17/23, & was observed actively leaking a bright yellow paint like material on the <br />railcar & along the side/underneath the trailer. The release was dripping at various rates & has released a total less than 4 gallons collectively. The trailer <br />was immediately moved to the containment pit, with an environmental contractor dispatched to clean all affected areas. <br />*IMPORTANT* <br />As such, this is a shipper responsibility for improper loading/handling/securing cargo & the remediation costs are the responsibility of GKH Global <br />Services. Contact Patriot Environmental at 800-624-9136 & reference HXIL9354 1/17/23 Stockton, CA for payment. <br />Patriot found 10-20gals missing from a 55 gal drum of Sherwin Williams Dynaprime primer, UN1263 (Hazmat). An additional drum had a 2" break/crack <br />in the bottom & released 50gals of same primer. There was also 11 pallets of Revista Surfactant, Hazmat UN3082, that was not declared/placarded <br />either. <br />All areas were cleaned & cargo was reloaded. Patriot Env'l removed all waste materials on behalf of GKH Global Svcs. Review this with the origin & <br />ensure future shipments comply with BNSF rules. <br />Ancillaries <br />In accordance with BNSF's Intermodal Rules and Policies Guide, ancillary charges may apply to this shipment. An invoice, if applicable, will be <br />generated to the shipper upon completion of the incident review. <br />Leaker Disclaimer <br />In addition, please be advised that some counties in the State of California will send BNSF Railway an invoice for their activity/handling/response <br />charges associated with a leaking shipment. It is not uncommon for BNSF Railway to receive these invoices several months after incident occurrence, <br />which will be promptly submitted to the appropriate shipper for payment. The shipper should contact the issuing county if they have any questions <br />regarding the invoice charges. <br />NOTE: With these current critical times in our transportation industry, I ask that you ensure your equipment is in acceptable condition & remind <br />everyone to secure all cargo properly per BNSF requirements.
