The EP10ORF won 't degrade in
the presence of fuel and if the steel is prepared properly the adhesion is very good . This is the same epoxy we would use
to seal a retrofit entry fitting to steel conduit for example . The steel sump manufacturer I ' m sure doesn't exist anymore
so they can ' t supply an approved method for sealing their sump . I have not seen this site but from what the contractor
described this repair would be reasonable to do . To adhere epoxy to steel it needs to be sanded to bare metal , removing
any anti - corrosion coatings so painting exposed bare steel with Amershield would be recommended . If someone epoxies
to our old B2000 ( steel ) UDC' s we do require the Amershield post repair .
Let me know if there is any other information I can provide .
Thank you .
Micah Nelson
Mnelson@sbravo . com
Vice President Strategic Growth
S . I received your letter from a
contractor regarding Bravo EP100 and EP10ORF, stating that they are UL listed and appropriate to use with fiberglass,
steel , PVDF and PVC .
Would using EP10ORF to reseal a steel tank saddle on an unknown steel piping sump be an approved use of this epoxy?
The contactor also mentioned that Bravo uses EP10ORF and Amershield to enhance steel Bravo UDCs but the letter
didn 't mention anything about Amershield . Though no work is being done on UDCs for this permit . The contractor wants
to use the EP10ORF and then Amershield on top .
Thanks !
All the Best,
Carol Presto
Registered Environmental Health Specialist
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
Email : cpresto@s0gov . org I Direct : ( 209 ) 616-3061 Main : ( 209 ) 468 -3420
https : //www . s *gov . org/department/envhealth /
1
