Bartender is not aware of the complaint. Bartender called the owner and we spoke on the phone.
Per owner, his son is cooking hot dogs for patrons on a Blackstone grill behind the bar on the weekends. I let the owner know
that if his son is to be considered the responsible party, then he will need to obtain his own permit. If the bar owner is
considered the responsible party, then the BBQing of hot dogs only ( no bacon, no produce) may occur outdoors on the grill.
Assembly of hot dogs (putting on bun, etc.) must occur inside. The bar lacks any cooking equipment. The bar switched from a
1621 (bar without food prep) to a 1623 (restaurant/bar 1-20 seats) during COVID to meet the food service requirement (with
the understanding that only hot dogs would be made in a crockpot).
Per owner, he will discontinue this practice if needed.
If the above conditions are met, the practice of grilling only hot dogs may continue (the 5 year Food Safety Certificate is still
needed).
If the owner's son is to be considered the responsible party, he will need to obtain his own health permit.
