Phoned SAETERN <br />Ralph Roberts 209-323-9492, of PG&E. Per Ralph, the PG&E crew was digging <br />on their property and discovered there was an unknown amount of hydraulic oil <br />spill. They had dug 7ft into the ground and is unsure if the hydrulic oil had <br />impacted ground water considering the ground water level in the area is 10ft. <br />Updated J. Alaniz, Lead REHS, and M. Per Ralph, a well <br />was in the process of being abandoned when hydraulic oil was observed in soil <br />beneath the cement well cellar floor. The crew had excavated approximately 7 <br />feet down when they encountered oil in the soil. Per Ralph, it is unknown where <br />the oil came from or how long it had been there. Ralph also stated that he <br />believes the contaminated soil is oil and not other fluids. <br />6:24 PM-7:42PM <br />Created a complaint and typed up a notice to abate. Emailed the notice to Ralph <br />and he confirmed that he receive it saying: <br />"Hello John, our clean-up contractor is saying that they may not be able to start <br />excavation until Wed or Thursday while they wait for the USA to clear. I will keep <br />you updated." <br />Ralph Roberts made CalOES spill report 23-0946.
