Sensor functionality : Functionality of the monitoring system must be verified to ensure that monitoring has been restored to meet the requirements of Title 23 California Code of Regulations and the Health & Safety Code . Secondary containment testing for the all 4 new installed UDCs is required six months after installation . Provide 48 hours notification to the EHD when this test is scheduled . 5 . Any individual performing the work of a service technician must possess , or work under the direct and personal supervision of an individual physically present at the work site at all times while work is being performed who possesses , all of the following : • One of several permissible valid , current contractor licenses issued by the CSLB • A current California UST Service Technician certificate issued by the ICC • A valid , current certificate of training from the manufacturer( s ) of the component (s) being tested , or the developer of the testing equipment or test method (s ) being used 6 . Any individual installing underground storage systems or components must possess , or work under the direct and personal supervision of an individual physically present at the work site at all times while work is being performed who possesses , all of the following : • One of several permissible valid , current contractor licenses issued by the Contractors State License Board (CSLB) • A current UST Installation/ Retrofitting certificate issued by the International Code Council ( ICC) • A valid , current certificate of training from the manufacturer(s ) of the component ( s) being installed 7 . Individuals working under the direct supervision of a qualified UST installer or UST service technician must , at a minimum , be employed by the person with the CSLB license and possess all manufacturer certificates of training for the equipment on which they are working . 8 . The tank owner or operator shall log into the California Environmental Reporting System (CERS ) at http : //cers . calepa . ca . gov/ and ensure all UST information is current . 9 . The tank owner or operator shall log into CERS and complete and submit a UST Certification of Installation/Modification for the UDCs and piping within 30 days . 10 . All components must be certified by an independent testing organization and labeled as required by the organization ( UL , ULC , ANSI , API , ASTM , etc . ) . See California Code of Regulations (CCR) Title 23 , Chapter 16 , Table B for a complete list . 11 . Permit expires 180 days from the date of approval . If an extension to the expiration date is required , a written request must be submitted to this office prior to the expiration date . 2of3
