Box 6567
Stockton, CA 95206
Dear Mr. Bassos
REQUIRED SUBMITTAL OF CLOSURE AND POST CLOSURE PLAN, FORWARD
INC, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
We are informed that you have submitted a Closure and Post
Closure Plan for disposal trenches l through 4 to the
Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board
(CVRWQCB) for their review and approval. This letter is to
inform you that the Hazardous Waste Control Law and this
Department's regulations require that hazardous waste
facilities be closed under the supervision of this
Department, in addition to the requirements of any other
governmental agency. Typically, in order for a hazardous
waste facility to meet all State hazardous waste facility
closure requirements, the facility should concurrently
submit duplicate copies of all closure documents to both the
appropriate regional water quality agency (in Forward's case
the CVRWQCB) and this Department.
In accordance with the aforementioned law and regulations, you
are hereby directed to submit to this office at the
letterhead address, within 30 days from the date of receipt
of this certified letter, a copy of the most recent closure
plan for the Forward Inc. facility. Following our review we
will notify you in writing whether the closure plan meets
all the closure requirements of this Department. Closure
may not be finalized until all Departmental requirements are
met. To the extent possible this department will coordinate
its review of your closure plan with staff from the CVRWQCB.
