Received photos from complainant. Gave complainant the complaint number generated from the incident. Per complainant, the trash came from 1432 Valencia according to the Kaiser Periodical on the street corner. 04/14/2023 Received complaint from John Alaniz (CUPA). He received a call from the complainant (c) stating that a Republic Services garbage truck dumped trash on Pershing Ave X Paloma Ave during their routine pickup this morning. The (c) called Republic but they have not picked up the spilled trash by now, 3 pm. I called the (c) and told her that I'll call Republic. BACKUS I called Republic on their residential service line and the operator stated that she will call the (c) and resolve the issue. I received a call back from the (c) and she stated that the Republic representative called her but did not promise to pick up the trash. I told the (c) that I'll respond to the site and take photos of the spilled trash. I arrived on-site about 3:45 pm and took photos of the recycling waste spilled on the west side of Pershing Ave between Paloma Ave and Barcelona Ave. The amount spilled would probably fill two 5-gallon buckets. I called the environmental contact for Republic Services, 1145 W Charter Way (Independent Trucking) (found in the California Environmental Reporting System (CERS)), Kris Nair, 209-235-9622, and spoke with him. I gave him the address and the issue. He said that he'll call his manager and get the trash picked up. I called the (c) back and told her that Republic Services should be responding and clean up the trash. I went by the site on Sunday (April 16) (driving by for personal business) and observed that the trash had been picked up. Abated complaint. 04/17/2023 Completed complaint documentation.
