Per the responsible party the GARCIA-MEJIA <br />oil/water separator located in the mechanic shop caused the release of 30 gallons <br />of liquid but the cause is unknown. Liquid was released on the mechanic shop <br />concrete floor and onto the ballast. No waterways or storm drains were impacted. <br />BNSF has contracted US Ecology to conduct clean up. <br />Arrived at the 801 Diamond St location with Shewit W. Spoke with Justin Piper <br />with BNSF (360-553-8672) who provided me with a local contact that would be <br />able to show me the location of the spill. Called Marc Jackson (209-901-1729) the <br />local BNSF contact who stated that he was on his way. Akin Fayehun <br />(209-901-1729) with BNSF showed us the location of the spill while we waited for <br />Mark to arrive. Akin stated that a blockage or malfunction of the oil/water <br />separator is what caused the spill. Absorbent was added to the spill. Informed <br />Mark and Akin that our after hours inspector would be on site to witness clean up <br />and I provided them with his contact information. <br />Generated Prop 65 and provided it to Genesis to be mailed out. Saved photos to <br />the public drive. Sent email with complaint information to the after hours inspector. <br />12/05/2022 Received information on a spill located on diamond street. Discussed spill with ERNEST <br />Gaby Garcia. She indicated clean up will be conducted at 5, and is located in the <br />BNSF yard. <br />12/05/2022 Received information from Gaby Garcia EHD. She indicated a clean up crew from ERNEST <br />US Ecology will be on site at approx. 5 pm. Arrived on site at approx 5:10 pm. <br />Could not find clean up site. Called number provided for BNSF, Chad Weitzel. <br />817-593-6823 and received the number to site supervisor Justin Piper <br />360-553-8672. Called and left a message. Called Justin Piper again and he gave <br />me a number for Shianna Davis of US Ecology 530-693-7977. Arrive at the correct <br />location at approx. 5:45pm. Affected area was cleaned by removing soiled <br />absorbent, power washing, and removing contaminated soil. Two black 55 gallon <br />drums of waste were generated and left on site for determination and disposal. <br />Clean up area was adequate. <br />12/06/2022 Discussed after hours clean up with Fred E.
