VESERIS
Contingency Plan
Section 5 —
Pre-Emergency Planning
Effective Date
9/20/2021
Supersedes
New
II. EXPLOSIONS
As outlined in the previous section, Veseris facilities can handle multiple
products and quantities of flammable liquids. Package sizes can include 5-
gallon pails, 55-gallon drums, portable tanks, intermediate bulk containers
(IBCs) and bulk tanks.
At Veseris facilities flammable liquids can be stored in, but not limited to:
Pails
Drums
Portable tanks/IBCs
Bulk tanks
As a general rule, the threat of an explosion from these products is relatively
low; however, that can change should a fire break out.
Flammable liquids and mixtures that contain flammable compounds are
extreme fire hazards. If sealed containers of these liquids are in a fire or in
close proximity to a fire, the resulting heat could cause the container to explode
violently.
Evacuation assembly point areas should be located away from
storage areas of containerized flammables.
