VESERIS <br />Contingency Plan <br />Section 6 — Effective Date Supersedes Page <br />Emergency Procedures 9/20/2021 New 6-6 <br />The Emergency Coordinator must provide for storing or disposing of <br />recovered wastes, contaminated soils or water, or any other debris <br />resulting from a fire, release, or explosion at the facility. <br />All equipment used during the emergency must be cleaned and made fit <br />for use or replaced immediately in order to be prepared for another <br />emergency. Refer to the Operating Standards Manual, Decontamination <br />Procedures, Section 6.41, Exhibit 4. <br />III. SPILLS <br />In the event of a spill, branch personnel will follow this procedure: <br />EMERGENCY PROCEDURES: <br /> <br />1. Alert the Emergency Coordinator and give the following information: <br />Your name; <br />Location of the spill; and <br />Need for fire truck, ambulance, police, or other emergency equipment. <br />The Emergency Coordinator will call for assistance from the <br />appropriate local emergency services agencies. <br /> <br />2. If in the judgment of the Emergency Coordinator the spill situation <br />requires evacuation, he/she will sound the alarm either verbally, <br />telephone page, or pre- designated alarm. All contractors shall notify <br />the branch operations manager or supervisor of any spills and leave the <br />area as soon as the appropriately trained Veseris responders arrive at <br />the spill location. <br />Upon hearing the alarm, all personnel are to leave the premises by <br />the nearest safe exit and report to the Assembly Point Leader(s) at <br />the designated congregation area. If there is time to do so safely, <br />Assembly Point Leaders should turn off main power switches in <br />their buildings and close doors and windows. <br />Vehicle and fork truck operators will clear their equipment from the <br />aisles, exits and yard as appropriate. Shut off engines and lock <br />them.
