The Emergency Coordinator must work in conjunction with the local <br />emergency services department when a release is too large for the Fire/Spill <br />Control Team(s) to handle. The following information should be made <br />available to the arriving emergency assistance teams: <br />Type of gas released (toxicity and flammability). <br />Other chemicals within the vicinity of the release. <br />Measures already taken to control the emergency. <br /> <br />7. The Emergency Coordinator must notify the Regional Operations Manager <br />and the Regional Regulatory Manager of the incident as soon as it is <br />possible to do so. If neither are available, contact Austin Operations. <br /> <br />8. The Emergency Coordinator must provide for treating, storing, or disposing <br />of recovered wastes, contaminated soils or water, or any other debris <br />resulting from a release at the facility. <br /> <br />9. All equipment used during the emergency must be cleaned and made fit for <br />use or replaced immediately in order to be prepared for another emergency. <br />Refer to the Operating Standards Manual, Decontamination Procedures, <br />Section 6.41, Exhibit 4. <br />V. HAZARDOUS WASTES <br />In the event of a release of hazardous wastes, branch personnel will follow <br />these procedures: <br />EMERGENCY PROCEDURES: <br />1. Alert the Emergency Coordinator and give the following information: <br />Your name; <br />Location of the spill; and <br />Need for fire truck, ambulance, police, or other emergency equipment. <br />The Emergency Coordinator will call for assistance from the <br />appropriate local emergency services agencies.
