VESERIS <br />Contingency Plan <br />Section 6 — <br />Emergency Procedures <br />Effective Date <br />9/20/2021 <br />Supersedes <br />New <br />Page <br />6-15 <br />If a Veseris Branch is made aware of a transportation incident involving a <br />common carrier carrying Veseris lading within the Branch's territory, the <br />Branch Operations Manager/Supervisor, in conjunction with the Regional <br />Regulatory Manager or Regional Operations Manager and the common <br />carrier, shall decide if it is appropriate to respond to the incident with <br />Veseris personnel and equipment. <br />If a Veseris vehicle carrying hazardous materials or wastes or a common <br />carrier carrying Veseris lading is involved in a major transportation incident, the <br />following emergency procedures apply: <br />EMERGENCY PROCEDURES: <br />If able to do so, the driver should contact local authorities first to summon <br />help for the injured. If there are explosions or hazardous materials are on <br />fire or leaking, this too should be reported to local Authorities. <br />As soon as it is practicable, the driver involved in the accident shall <br />report the incident to the Branch Emergency Coordinator. <br />The Branch Operations Manager/Supervisor (Emergency Coordinator) or <br />the alternate, in conjunction with the Regional Regulatory Manager and/or <br />Regional Operations Manager shall decide if it is appropriate to respond <br />with Veseris personnel and equipment. <br />The Branch Operations Manager/Supervisor (Emergency Coordinator) or <br />the alternate shall attempt to obtain as much information about the <br />incident as possible concerning the release of hazardous materials, <br />paying particular attention to individual substances involved and the <br />quantities released.
