The following is an itemized list of hazardous waste violations that have not been addressed for AVILA AUTO REPAIR INC as of Ma 08 , 2023 . Open violations from April 18, 2022 inspection Violation #302 - Failed to have all communication or alarm systems , spill control , or decontamination equipment. OBSERVATION: The facility is not equipped with the following equipment: - Spill control equipment (absorbent material ) . REGULATION GUIDANCE: All facilities shall be equipped with the following , unless it can be demonstrated to the Department that none of the hazards posed by waste handled at the facility could require a particular kind of equipment specified below: ( a) an internal communications or alarm system capable of providing immediate emergency instruction (voice or signal ) to facility personnel ; ( b) a device , such as a telephone ( immediately available at the scene of operations) or a hand-held two-way radio , capable of summoning emergency assistance from local police departments , fire departments , or State or local emergency response teams ; (c) portable fire extinguishers , fire control equipment ( including special extinguishing equipment, such as that using foam , inert gas , or dry chemicals) , spill control equipment, and decontamination equipment; and (d ) water at adequate volume and pressure to supply water hose streams , or foam producing equipment, or automatic sprinklers , or water spray systems . CORRECTIVE ACTION : Immediately obtain the following equipment: spill control equipment ( absorbent material ) . Provide a corrective action statement and supporting documentation to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department within 30 days . ❑ This violation was corrected ❑ This violation will be corrected by ( date) . ❑ Supporting documents included Describe actions taken or will be taken to correct violation : Violation #608 - Failed to properly manage used oil filters or fuel filters . OBSERVATION Containers of used metal oil or fuel filters out of compliance with the storage rules were observed on -site . The following used metal oil or fuel filter containers were on -site : - One 55-gallon drum of drained used oil filters were observed on site over 1 year, accumulation start date of 3/ 1 /2019 listed on label . REGULATION GUIDANCE: Title 22 California Code of Regulations section 66266 . 130 Management of Used Oil Filters . California Health & Safety Code section 25250 . 22 Fuel Filters CORRECTIVE ACTION : Immediately dispose of all used filters stored on-site greater than one year . Used filters not stored , handled and disposed of according to this section are regulated as hazardous waste .
