Yes you can set up a booth for an event. The event organizer would have to collect all the information for all the practitioners and submit with payment to us. We would then go to the event and inspect each booth for compliance with the Safe Body Art Act. As far as your bill of$375 ($125 registration, $250 facility),that is for the upcoming fiscal year(July 1, 2013-June 30, 2014). If this is an issue, you should contact Robert(468-0332). As far as the mobile tattooing goes, am I correct in saying that we could set up booth at events and tattoo? I was under the impression that that was not acceptable. Let me know. Also,we received a bill from your office for$37500. Can you explain why we have to pay that again, when our shop just opened in March? Is this fee not pro-rated? We will document that in your file and not send a new invoice/permit for that practitioner when the time for renewal comes. Second,a mobile tattoo shop is legal. It is referenced in Section 119316(a)and (b)of the Safe Body Art Act. The standards for a mobile facility are the same as for a temporary booth (Section 119317). More stringent standards for mobile facilities will be introduced into law in the near future. Hope that helps. Ben 1
