COMPLAINANT ALSO STATES THE LOCATION IS ALLEGEDLY SELLING MEAT THAT IS NOT <br />REFRIGERATED, HANDLES THE MEAT WITH NO CLOVES, HAS DIRTY FLOORS WHERE THE MEAT IS KEPT, AND <br />DOES NOT WASH THEIR HANDS BETWEEN HANDLING MONEY AND THE MEAT. COMPLAINANT STATES THE <br />MEAT IS ALLEGEDLY STORED IN THE BACK CORNER OF THE STORE IN A SMALL SPACE." <br />VIOLATIONS AND CORRECTIVE ACTIONS <br />Items listed on this report as violations do not meet the requirements set forth in the California Health and Safety Code commencing with section 7; <br />113700. All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health <br />and have the potential to cause foodbome illness. All major violations must be corrected immediately. Non-compliance may warrant immediate closure of <br />the food facility. <br />#45 Floors, Walls, Ceilings; Clean and Maintained <br />OBSERVATIONS: The floor in between the back of the Meat walk-in cooler and the bakery needs to be cleaned. Clean and <br />sanitize today. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: The walls /ceilings shall have durable, smooth, nonabsorbent, light-colored, and washable surfaces. All floor <br />surfaces, other than the customer service areas, shall be approved, smooth, durable and made of nonabsorbent material that is easily <br />cleanable. Approved base coving shall be provided in all areas, except customer service areas and where food is stored in original <br />unopened containers. Food facilities shall be fully enclosed. All food facilities shall be kept clean and in good repair. Per employee, the pre-packaged candies and goods are rotated (first in-first <br />out). Employee states that the meat is cut to order. Meat may be left out for a limited time while being cut. Employee states <br />that employees do wear gloves. Per employee, there is only one area where money is exchanged: at the front of the store <br />(two registers). All payment transactions for the meat dept., bakery, and restaurant take place at the front of the store. No <br />money is exchanged at the meat dept. <br />Upon inspection this date: <br />The pre-packaged candies and goods observed were within the BEST BY date. No observations this date of food that has <br />gone past the BEST BY date (which is not an expiry date). <br />The facility had just received a shipment. Five cases of meat were sitting on a storage shelf next to the walk-in cooler.
